Mr. Darbee will examine transportation changes in postwar Columbus (streetcars to automobiles) and the early expansion of the city outward to first-ring suburbs.

"Peace, Prosperity = Urban Maturity, Modernism"

Ms. Powers will explore the development of downtown architecture between the wars, including skyscrapers, arts centers, and new civic buildings.

"One Soldier's Thoughts: The Great War and World War II"

Mr. Keesee will share the story of a Columbus WWI soldier whose son fought in WWII, and their letters about the meaning and nature of war.

Nancy Recchie Historic Preservation Specialist, Benjamin D. Rickey & Co.

"Changing German Identity in Columbus"

Ms. Recchie will discuss how German Americans living in Columbus experienced the changes wrought on their community by the war.
