Ryan's Rescue
by Diana I. Kline
Illustrated by Suzy Cornetet
This is the story of Ryan, a dalmatian, who is sad about a pending move from his owner's place of work. During the course of his journey, he learns that change may be difficult and yet may still result in a positive outcome.
In the process, he receives help from his friends, co-workers, and total strangers, and they all learn a little bit about the history of Columbus along the way.
Real life themes are part of the story -- the stress of moving and the emotional challenges that may result from it, the joys and responsibilities of pet ownership, the enjoyment and privilege of life-long learning, and the human connection that helps us all deal with life's changes.
The story was written by author Diana I. Kline and illustrated by Suzy Cornetet for the benefit of the Columbus Historical Society and its Engine House No. 6 restoration project. Proceeds from all sales of this book go toward supporting the restoration of the historic engine house and turning it into CHS’s museum and offices. Members of CHS will receive a complimentary copy when they join.
