Creating a statue in honor of Lucas Sullivant, founder of Franklinton, was truly a historical adventure. As the first settlement in the area now known as Columbus, Franklinton played a vital role in the region’s early development, and Sullivant was the pioneer who helped ensure its survival and progress.

Visitors will learn about the process of researching and creating the statue, along with the history of Sullivant and early Franklinton. After the presentation, guests are invited to view display items and tour the Harrison House and the Sullivant Land Office located behind the house, offering a closer look at the places connected to these early stories.

Parking is available behind the house, on N. Gift Street beside the house, next door beside Holy Family Church, and across the street at Restaurant Equippers (635 W. Broad Street). Please enter through the front door of the Historic Harrison House. An accessible ramp is located at the rear of the house. The Sullivant Land Office is accessed by three steps with a sturdy railing.

Light refreshments will be served, and questions are encouraged.
